Major Environmental Policy in Environmental Sciences
A Major in Environmental Policy can offer you the academic skills in analyzing and evaluating environmental policy and governance of natural resources and biodiversity. The program will give students the theoretical and empirical tools to analyze, evaluate and (help) design democratic processes of environmental reform from the local up to the global level.
The Master Environmental Sciences in which this major can be done provides insight into the socio-economic causes, the nature, and the consequences of pollution and degradation of the natural environment. It intends to generate technology as well as socio-political and economic instruments to control and prevent environmental problems in an interdisciplinary way.

The governance of food chains requires an understanding of international trade and regulation and the management of food production and cunsumption chains. The specialization Economics, Environment, and Policy focuses on economic, environmental, and policy analysis. It is concerned with international trade, economic development, the agricultural and food processing sector and rural areas within the European Union and within developing countries. To analyze these issues, macro- and micro-economic theories are applied, as well as theories from law, sociology, and political science. The MSc Management, Economics and Consumer studies in which this specialization is done focuses on the managerial, economic, environmental and sociological aspects of the production and consumption of food within households and businesses in a sustainable and dynamic environment.
